Palace Theater, Stamford CT

An annual fashion event dedicated to educating women of color about the risks of heart disease and how to prevent it.

Heart — it's what the African American and Hispanic-Latino communities are all about ... especially us girls! We take care of everyone around us ... but when we don't take care of ourselves, our heart is what brings us down. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for African American men and women over age 20. It's our job to take charge ... of our hearts and our health, for ourselves and our families and friends.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for African American women over 20.

Arm in arm to fight heart disease among minorities, Stamford Hospital and the Fairfield County chapter of the Links, Inc., and Her Game Productions, have joined forces to co-sponsor an annual evening extravaganza to raise awareness of heart health. This fun-filled evening event brings together fashion, theater and music in a program that celebrates life to its fullest! Fashion From the Heart spotlights the dangers of heart disease, stroke and diabetes among African-American and Hispanic communities using fashion and theater as an inspiration.
