You’ve heard it so many times before that it is starting to ring in your ears but it’s true the power to make these changes is yours. To make an impact on your heart, you have to be committed making the changes necessary.

Schedule regular visits with your doctor.

We schedule check ups for our families but don’t always take the same care of ourselves. Visit your physician regularly. He or she will check your cholesterol and blood pressure to make sure
both are at the right levels. If necessary medication will be prescribed to help control both these factors.
Remember, you can’t make positive change if you don’t have the information you need about your own health

Maintain a Healthy Diet:

Overweight and obesity are major contributors to heart disease and stroke. A healthy diet and lifestyle are your best weapons to fight cardiovascular disease and it is not as hard as you may think! Remember, it's the overall pattern of your choices that counts. Stay away from fad diets and focus on making healthy and realistic decisions about what you eat every day.

Exercise Regularly.

No one is asking you to run a marathon, but staying active is the best way to control your weight and stay heart healthy. 30 minutes of moderate activity, such as walking, most days a week will go a long way toward improving your health.

Don't Smoke, and if you do, STOP!
